1. Information We Collect

Account Data: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and organization name via our authentication provider (Clerk).

Website Content: When you use ELV, we crawl the website URLs you provide to build a knowledge base. This content is stored as text chunks with embeddings.

Conversation Data: We record conversation transcripts (text only) between visitors and the AI agent for quality monitoring and analytics. Audio is processed in real-time and not stored.

Visitor Data: We collect anonymous visitor fingerprints (hashed) and page URLs for conversation context. We do not collect personal information from visitors unless they voluntarily provide it during conversations.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide and improve the ELV voice support service
  • To generate analytics and usage reports for account holders
  • To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents
  • To communicate service updates and billing information

3. Data Processing

Conversations are processed through:

  • Speech-to-Text: Deepgram (audio → text, not stored)
  • Language Model: OpenAI GPT-4o-mini (text processing)
  • Text-to-Speech: Cartesia (text → audio, not stored)
  • Embeddings: OpenAI (for semantic search)

Audio data is processed in real-time via WebRTC and is never stored on our servers or any third-party servers.

4. Data Retention

Conversation transcripts are retained for 90 days. Knowledge base content is retained as long as your account is active. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account closure.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.3), encryption at rest (AES-256), and access controls. API keys are stored as SHA-256 hashes and cannot be retrieved.

6. Your Rights

You can access, export, or delete your data at any time through the dashboard. For GDPR requests, contact privacy@YOUR_DOMAIN.
